1. Next Year iPhone may come with Dual-SIM Variant
A couple of new patent filings suggest that Apple is considering adding the dual-SIM functionality to iPhones. Forbes in a report cites two patent filings in China and US that suggest the Apple may launch a dual-SIM iPhone in future. The report points to a document filed with China’s State Intellectual Property Office that describes a dual-SIM card feature in iPhones that would allow two mobile numbers in a single device.
2. LeEco Confirms Layoffs in India ;Talks About Revamped Strategy
Recently, LeEco admitted expanding too fast too soon, and has since been scrutinising plans. This overhaul will imply several changes across the markets in which it operates, including India, where the company has confirmed layoffs are planned. Referring to reports that company is exiting the offline sales market it had entered under six months ago, LeEco didn’t confirm its actual exit – however, it did say it was now focused on its online channels.
3. HTC will launch a New Smartphone on January 12
HTC has started sending media invites for an event on January 12 where the company says it will make its “next big announcement.” The company has shared a teaser invite with “for U” as a tagline. The recent rumours have pointed to the launch of the HTC X10 mid-range smartphone in January.
4. Nexus 6P Users Still Reporting Battery Failure Issue Related to Android 7.0 Nougat
Early last month, some Nexus 6P users reported an issue where their devices were shutting down unexpectedly despite showing some percentage of battery left, after updating to Android 7.0 Nougat. It seems like Google has still not fixed the issue as Nexus 6P users are continuing to complain regarding the issue to the search giant through threads and complaint forums.Some users have reported that their battery died out from battery levels as high as 60 percent, as pointed out in a report by AndroidPolice.

7. Instagram Gets Stickers for Stories, Hands-Free Video Recording
Instagram has rolled out two more features that allows users to add stickers to posts and capture videos “hands-free”. Instagram has also added a “hands-free” for video recording. Now the users do not have to hold down the video button to record a video anymore.
8. LG ProBeam Laser Projector, Deep Learning Based Home Appliances Unveiled
LG’s upcoming slew of products includes a new laser projector – LG ProBeam running webOS – that the company will put on display at the CES. Other home appliances that LG is slated to showcase at the event comprise a robot cleaner, a smart refrigerator, a smart air conditioner, and a smart washing machine. All of the home appliances are integrated with the deep learning technology.
